Making art is a humble practice that also holds the promise of something magical. When I paint, I get out of the way and let the work flow through me. The alchemy of mark-making and experimentation generates a search for meaning, a tool for learning, and a way to find my place in the world. I’m drawn to art mediums that have an element of unpredictability such as watercolor, gel plate printing or gesture drawing. There is a collaboration that happens while working with these mediums leaving room for something transcendent to emerge. Often the final step to my paintings is stitching embroidery thread. I find the application of mending the painting to be healing, and a reflective process that speaks to a time-honored hand arts tradition. I value curiosity, play and collaboration, and enjoy sharing my process with others.

After graduating with a BFA from the University of Arizona, I moved to the Bay Area and worked as the production manager at RE/Search Publications. I currently live and work in Portland, Oregon. My work has been featured in exhibitions throughout the Pacific Northwest. I teach beginning watercolor classes in my studio that focus on process, experimentation & joy. I am also a forever student of tarot and astrology.
