My body is my resume. From losing sight in my right eye as a young child to birthing my son and now attempting to age gracefully, these experiences all inform my art making. My creative process is akin to a magical practice. When I paint, I get out of the way

and let the work flow through me.

The alchemy of mark-making and mapping generates a search for meaning, a tool for learning, and a way to find my place in the world. Each painting is made of layers of watercolor, gouache, paint pens and wax pastels along with various mark-making tools. Often the final step to my paintings is stitching embroidery thread. I find the application of mending the painting to be healing, and a reflective process that speaks to a time-honored hand arts tradition. I value beauty, curiosity and collaboration and enjoy sharing my process with others.

After graduating with a BFA from the University of Arizona, I moved to the Bay Area and worked as the production manager at RE/Search Publications. I currently live and work in Portland, Oregon. My work has been featured in exhibitions throughout the Pacific Northwest. I have taught felting classes at Naked Sheep & Twisted yarn stores in Portland, Oregon. I also teach beginning watercolor classes in my studio that focus on curiosity, process & experimentation. I am also a forever student of tarot and astrology.
